Belonging Plus for First Years

Dear parent/guardian,

All first year students will be participating in the Belonging Plus Programme. This Programme is designed to help your son/daughter settle into secondary school life. It will run for four mornings starting on Monday 7th of September till Thursday 10th of September. Students will start at 8.45am and finish each day at 11.45am. Friday the 11th will be a normal school day which is from 8.45am to 12.45pm.

Each student will be given a workbook which guides them through what is expected of them as they become part of St.Aidans.

Great emphasis is placed on our school Banner which highlights clearly the class rule of, One Voice –Hands up- Wait-Listen

We also focus on students’ skills. These can be seen clearly on the booklet. We would encourage you to read and practice these skills with them at home. Other areas covered include school rules, timetable, parts of the Alert Programme which teaches students how to manage the school day and they are made aware of all school supports that will guide them through their time in St. Aidans. They will also be guided through the new procedures in response to Covid 19.

Each student will receive a Certificate upon completion.

We are looking forward to meeting your son/daughter and the team of teachers will do their very best to support them in school at this challenging time.

Yours sincerely,
