Garbage Island Make A Book 2020

First year students have written a book.
Garbage Island Make A Book 2020

First Year students from St. Cillian's and the Art Option Class from St. Naoise's worked on writing and illustrating their own book.

Students came up with the idea of 'Garbage Island' that has a running theme of global warming and climate change and what that could mean for wildlife, animals and mammals around the world!

St. Cillian's came up with the idea and did all of the writing for the book with the guidance of their English teacher Mr. Casey and Ms. Flynn JCSP Librarian. They also had the guidance and help of Alan Nolan illustrator. The art option class from St. Naoise did all of the illustrations for the book alongside their art teacher Ms. Sullivan and both groups worked alongside one another in order to produce the best book they could.

We were absolutely delighted with the finished product as the students did all of the work themselves and are so very proud of themselves. It is an amazing book! All students who worked on it received a copy of the book and we have copies for our library too!

First Year students will present this book at Make A Book 2020 later in the year.

Well done to all involved and special thanks to Alan Nolan who worked very hard on this project with First Year students.
