Minister's Message

Minister’s Message

As you are aware the incidence of Covid 19 in the country is concerning and further restrictions were announced last night by the Taoiseach. We head into another challenging phase where no visitors are allowed to households. This will be difficult for all of us.

The school has inevitably been affected by this rise in cases with staff and students having to stay home for periods of time to restrict movements or self-isolate. Unfortunately this has led to us having to send some senior classes home early today. This is due to teacher absence but not due to an outbreak in the school.

I just want to remind parents that it is the role of public health to identify risk in relation to Covid 19 and they will contact anyone who they determine is a close contact of a positive case. The school has no role in passing on this information unless Public Health instruct us to do so.

We appreciate that this is a very worrying time for families and I want to assure you that staff and students are working hard in the school to maintain a safe and healthy environment
